Biography

Efim Andreyevich Kuznetsov (1783–1850) lived in Irkutsk, the major administrative and cultural center of Siberia during the 19th century. His long life spanned from the reign of Catherine the Great through the early years of Nicholas I, witnessing Russia's continued expansion and development of its eastern territories.

Based in one of Siberia's most important cities, Kuznetsov was part of the Russian community that helped establish and maintain imperial authority across vast distances.
