Biography

Ignatius Malyshev (1811–1897) was a distinguished Russian hagiographer whose scholarly work preserved and documented the lives of saints and religious figures. His dedication to religious scholarship and historical documentation made him a respected figure in ecclesiastical circles throughout his long life.

Ignatius's contributions to hagiographic literature ensured that important spiritual and historical records were maintained for future generations. He was laid to rest at the Coastal Monastery of St. Sergius in 1897, a fitting place for a man devoted to Orthodox Christian scholarship.
