Biography

伊木忠澄 (Iki Tadaumi) was a respected Japanese tea master whose expertise and practice embodied the refined aesthetic and philosophical principles of the tea ceremony. As a tea master during the late Edo and Meiji periods, he preserved and transmitted the traditional knowledge and spiritual dimensions of this important cultural practice.

His association with Shōrin-ji Temple reflects the deep connections between tea ceremony practice and Buddhist institutions in Japan.
