Biography

Aleksandr Vasilyevich Yakovlev (1835–1888) was a Russian economist whose scholarly work contributed to the economic thought of nineteenth-century Russia. He engaged with the significant economic questions and transformations of his era during a period of industrialization and social change.

Yakovlev's economic expertise reflected the intellectual concerns of mid-to-late nineteenth-century Russian society. He was buried in Tikhvin Cemetery, where his memory endures as part of Russia's intellectual heritage.
