Biography
Mikhail Ivanovich Sobolev (1837–1911) was a Russian Orthodox protoiereus (protopope), a senior priest of significant rank within the Russian Orthodox Church. Throughout his ecclesiastical career, he served the Church during a period of considerable social and political change in the Russian Empire. As a high-ranking clergyman, he would have been involved in pastoral duties, theological matters, and the spiritual guidance of his congregation.
Sobolev passed away in 1911 and was buried in Vagankovo Cemetery in Moscow, reflecting his prominence within Russian Orthodox religious circles and Moscow society.
