Эмилий Карлович Розенов was a distinguished Russian musicologist whose scholarly contributions enriched the cultural understanding of his nation's musical heritage. His work in musicology reflected the vibrant intellectual life of late Imperial and early Soviet Russia.

Розенов's long life, spanning from 1861 to 1935, allowed him to witness and document significant transformations in Russian musical culture. He was laid to rest at Donskoe cemetery, a burial ground that honored many of Russia's cultural and intellectual figures.
