Biography

A. C. Gibbs served the people of Oregon with sober judgment and an abiding reverence for the rule of law, guiding the state through vital early years with steady leadership. During his tenure as governor he sought to strengthen institutions and ensure that every voice was heard with fairness.

Even after leaving public office, he remained engaged in civic life, offering mentorship to other leaders and a listening ear to citizens in need, becoming a respected elder statesman. His final years concluded beside the Willamette, and he now rests at River View Cemetery, where many come to honor his far-reaching contributions.
