Biography
As the eldest son of Bahá'u'lláh and appointed interpreter of his message, ʻAbdu'l-Bahá guided the Baháʼí community through decades of tumult while keeping Haifa and Acre as the spiritual heart of the Faith.
He traveled widely in Europe and North America, meeting leaders and ordinary people alike, championing the equality of women and races and the cause of peace; in his final years he continued to nurture institutions in Haifa and to welcome pilgrims to the Shrine of the Báb.
