Biography
Abram Comingo was a Missouri lawyer who rose to represent the state's First District in the U.S. House of Representatives during the Civil War years, balancing the pressing issues of national preservation with the needs of his neighbors on the frontier.
After his service in Washington, he returned to Kansas City, resumed his legal practice and lent his experience to civic improvements and the mentoring of younger attorneys, remaining a steady presence in the Elmwood neighborhood until his passing.
