Biography
Adam Forepaugh built one of the great traveling circuses of the 19th century, boldly competing with P. T. Barnum while offering audiences unprecedented spectacles of exotic animals, acrobats, and theatrical variety in the Forepaugh & Sells shows.
He is remembered for his showmanship and for investing in the welfare of performers and animals alike, and his work to entertain and uplift communities is honored at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
