Biography

Adam Forepaugh built one of the nation's most ambitious circuses, challenging Barnum with lavish spectacles that mixed exotic animals, daredevil acts, and parades that thrilled towns from coast to coast.

Beyond the tents he sought to care for his performers and animals, and his entrepreneurial gifts helped sustain a traveling community of entertainers whose work brightened the lives of countless families; he was laid to rest at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
