Adele Briscoe Looscan

Biography

Adele Briscoe Looscan (1848-1935) devoted her life to collecting and preserving the stories of Texas pioneers, helping to found and lead historical organizations that kept the state's heritage alive.

Her writings, stewardship of archives, and encouragement of public history projects made a lasting impact on civic life, and she rests now at Glenwood Cemetery among the many Texans she honored.
