Adolph von Engeström

Biography

Adolph von Engeström (1753–1825) was a Swedish Bergmeister, a position of considerable importance in the management and oversight of Sweden's mining operations. His expertise in mining administration contributed to the development and regulation of Sweden's valuable mineral resources during the late 18th and early 19th centuries.

Von Engeström's career reflected the technical and administrative sophistication required to manage Sweden's mining industry during a period of industrial growth. His work helped ensure the efficient extraction and management of the nation's natural resources. He was laid to rest in Åland cemetery, where his memory preserves his contributions to Swedish industrial development.
