Biography
Albert Abrams, born in 1863, studied medicine and rose to prominence as a San Francisco physician and professor, teaching at the city’s medical schools. He sought to bring new tools to diagnosis, exploring electrical and other instruments he believed could help clinicians read the condition of patients more clearly.
While some of his ideas later sparked debate, he remained dedicated to teaching young doctors and to improving patient care, and he was laid to rest at Home of Peace Cemetery and Emanu-El Mausoleum, where those who remembered his commitment to medicine continue to gather.
