Albert Gerald Stern

1878–1966 (age 88)

Biography

Albert Gerald Stern, born amid the optimism of 1878, dedicated his career to banking and to steadying the institutions on which commerce and community alike depended. He had a particular gift for listening to people from all walks of life, and he used his influence to channel support toward schools, hospitals, and quiet civic projects that might otherwise have gone unattended.

After retirement he took comfort in the rhythms of village life, often attending services at the Church of St Peter and St Paul in Teston and quietly ensuring the parish could care for its members and grounds for future generations.
