Albert Kimmerling
1882–1912 (age 30)
Biography
Albert Kimmerling was fascinated by mechanics, and he channeled that fascination into the early art of powered flight, building lightweight biplanes and practicing daring flights over the Vaud countryside long before aviation was commonplace in Switzerland.
He shared the technical knowledge he gained with aspiring pilots and engineers, helping to seed the first local flying clubs and showing how careful preparation could make the air a place of calm progress rather than reckless adventure.
