Biography

Albert P. Laning began his public life in New York, serving in the state legislature and then representing western New York in the U.S. House from 1851 to 1853, where he worked on issues such as internal improvements and the welfare of the Great Lakes communities.

He remained active in regional affairs, supporting economic development and higher education, and his steady dedication is remembered at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
