Biography

Albert Tinchant (1860–1892) was a promising poet whose literary talents emerged during the latter decades of the nineteenth century. Though his life was cut short at the age of thirty-two, Tinchant contributed to the rich poetic traditions of French literature during a period of artistic innovation and cultural vitality.

His recognition as a poet and man of letters was reflected in his burial at Père Lachaise Cemetery, where he rests among other celebrated figures of French intellectual and artistic life.
