Biography

Albine Étiennette Marguerite Laffitte lived through much of the nineteenth century, witnessing the transformation of Paris from the Restoration period through the Second Empire and into the Third Republic. Her life spanned nearly eight decades, from 1805 to 1881.

Laffitte was a woman of her era who navigated the social landscape of nineteenth-century France. She was ultimately laid to rest in Père Lachaise Cemetery, where she joins countless other notable figures in this historic burial ground.
