Biography

Aleksander Jan Janasz was a notable member of Warsaw's Evangelical community whose life spanned the latter 19th and early 20th centuries. He witnessed and participated in significant changes in Polish society and culture during his lifetime.

Janasz's long life and his place within the Protestant community of Warsaw were reflected in his burial at the Evangelical Cemetery of the Augsburg Confession. He represents the continuity of the Evangelical tradition in Poland during a period of considerable historical change.
