Biography

Aleksander Tuurand (1888–1936) was an Estonian scenographer who contributed to the visual and artistic dimensions of Estonian theater and cultural production during the early 20th century. His work in scenography reflected the flourishing of Estonian cultural institutions during the interwar period.

Tuurand's career spanned the transformative decades of Estonian national development, and he was laid to rest at Metsakalmistu Cemetery in Tallinn. His contributions to Estonian theater and design remain part of the nation's cultural heritage.
