Biography
Aleksandr Bazhenov (1835–1867) was a talented translator who contributed to the cultural exchange of ideas in nineteenth-century Russia. His work in translation helped bridge linguistic and cultural divides during an important period of Russian intellectual development.
Though his life was cut short, Bazhenov's efforts in translation left a lasting impact on Russian letters. He was interred at Simonov Monastery, a significant religious and cultural institution, reflecting the respect accorded to his scholarly contributions.
