Biography

Aleksandr Drevin was a painter of considerable talent whose artistic vision contributed to the Russian visual arts tradition. His work reflected the creative ferment of the early twentieth century, exploring form and expression through his distinctive style.

Drevin's artistic career was tragically terminated when he was executed at the Butovo firing range in 1938, a casualty of the purges that claimed many of Russia's most talented artists and intellectuals.
