Biography

Aleksandr Smirnov was a Soviet translator whose linguistic expertise and cultural knowledge facilitated the exchange of ideas across languages and borders. His translation work contributed significantly to making international literature and thought accessible to Russian audiences.

Smirnov's dedication to the art of translation helped bridge cultural divides during the Soviet period. He was laid to rest at Serafimovskoe Cemetery.
