Biography

Aleksey Simukov (1904–1995) was a Russian screenwriter whose career contributed to Soviet and Russian cinema. Working in a medium that shaped cultural consciousness, Simukov participated in the development of Russian film during its most significant periods.

Simukov's ninety-one years of life allowed him to witness the entire arc of Soviet cinema and the transition to post-Soviet filmmaking. His burial at Nikolo-Arkhangelskoe Cemetery honors his contributions to Russian cultural heritage through his screenwriting work.
