Biography

Aleksey Yakimov was a pioneering test pilot whose career encompassed critical decades of Soviet aerospace advancement. His work testing experimental aircraft contributed to the development of aviation technology throughout the mid-to-late 20th century.

Yakimov's long career as a test pilot spanned from the early days of Soviet aviation to the modern era. He passed away in 2006 and was laid to rest at Bykovo cemetery, where his pioneering contributions to flight are remembered.
