Biography
Alexander G. Barry devoted his career to the public affairs of Oregon, bringing a thoughtful legal mind and a sincere respect for constituents to his service in Congress. As a senator he addressed the needs of veterans, farmers, and working families, offering measured counsel during a period of rapid change.
Beyond Washington he remained engaged with his community, returning to the Pacific Northwest to support civic initiatives and encourage the next generation of leaders. He rests now at Willamette National Cemetery, honored for the blend of intellectual rigor and personal warmth he brought to the nation and his state.
