Biography

Alexander M. Gow (1828-1891) embraced the trials of prairie life around Fontanelle, offering encouragement to fellow settlers and helping to foster a resilient spirit in the community.

Fontanelle Cemetery holds him now, and visits there recall the firm sense of duty he displayed and the encouragement he gave to budding civic institutions.
