Biography
Alexander Nikolayevich Samokhvalov was a prominent Soviet painter born in 1894. His artistic career spanned much of the twentieth century, during which he developed a distinctive style that reflected both avant-garde influences and socialist realist concerns, making him an important figure in Soviet visual culture.
Samokhvalov's paintings and graphic works were exhibited widely and his contributions to Soviet art were significant. He remained creatively active throughout his life, exploring themes of labor, heroism, and Soviet society. He passed away in 1971 and was buried at the Cemetery in Komarovo near Leningrad.
