Biography

Alexander Veselovsky (1838–1906) was a distinguished Russian philologist and literary scholar who made significant contributions to the study of Russian language and literature. His scholarly work helped establish foundations for modern philological research in Russia during the 19th century.

Veselovsky's academic legacy extended through his teaching and publications, which influenced generations of scholars. He was honored for his dedication to preserving and advancing the understanding of Russian linguistic and literary traditions, and was laid to rest at Novodevichy Cemetery, a place of honor for Russia's cultural figures.
