Biography

Alexandre Menjaud (1773–1832) was a French painter active during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. He contributed to the artistic life of France during a period of stylistic transition and cultural renewal following the Revolutionary era.

Menjaud's artistic practice reflected the evolving tastes and techniques of his time, as French painting developed new directions in the post-revolutionary period. He was buried in Montparnasse Cemetery, where many notable artists and intellectuals of his generation found their final resting place.
