Biography

Alexei Davidov was a Russian composer of the late 19th and early 20th centuries who made significant contributions to classical music during a period of cultural flourishing in Russia. His works reflected the romantic sensibilities of his era and demonstrated mastery of traditional compositional forms.

Davidov spent his final years in Berlin, where he remained active in musical circles until his death in 1940. He was laid to rest at the Berlin-Tegel Russian Orthodox Cemetery, a final resting place for many Russian émigrés and cultural figures who found refuge in Germany during the tumultuous decades following the Russian Revolution.
