Biography
Alexis George de Gunzburg was a young man of promise whose life was cut short by the ravages of the First World War. Born in 1887, he represented the generation that would bear the heaviest burden of the conflict.
He fell in 1914 during the fierce fighting in the Ypres Salient and was laid to rest in Zillebeke Churchyard, Commonwealth Plot, where his grave stands as a testament to his sacrifice.
