Alfred B. Meacham, born in 1826, served as an Indian agent for the Klamath and Modoc tribes and became a powerful advocate for fairness when he traveled to Washington to tell their story.

Though he survived violence and personal peril, he remained devoted to finding peaceful solutions and used his later years to speak for reconciliation and understanding.
