Inventor and toy manufacturer Alfred Carlton Gilbert had a boundless curiosity that inspired him to bring learning to life, from the thrill of the Erector Set to his early days as an Olympic pole vaulter. He believed that play could spark invention, and he dedicated himself to designing tools and toys that invited every child to imagine and build.
