Biography

Alfred Minott Copeland (1830–1913) carried a deep affection for Springfield, pouring his energy into caring for family, friends, and the larger community during an era of great transformation. He was quick to volunteer, always eager to lend his abilities to further the common good.

Though the particulars of his daily labors may not be recorded, those who stand by his gravesite at Springfield Cemetery carry with them memories of the loyalty and devotion he shared so generously.
