Alfred Proskauer

Biography

Alfred Proskauer was born in 1850 and became a devoted member of his congregation, offering steady support for cultural and charitable initiatives. He believed deeply in the power of shared tradition to sustain people through both celebration and difficulty.

Peers thanked him for his counseling, the warm welcome he extended to newcomers, and the dignity with which he carried himself, and his memory is preserved at Sha'arai Shomayim Cemetery.
