Biography

Alfréd Škroup (1843–1914) was a chapelmaster whose musical talents and leadership enriched the cultural and spiritual life of Prague. Born in 1843, he dedicated his career to the direction of choral and liturgical music, contributing significantly to the musical traditions of his community during the nineteenth century.

Škroup was interred in Olšany Cemetery, where he rests among the many musicians, artists, and cultural figures whose creative contributions shaped the artistic heritage of the Czech nation.
