Alice Lee Shippen

Alice Lee Shippen (1736-1817) was a member of the extended Lee family whose gracious manner and deep sense of duty made her a pillar of the Mount Vernon community.

Her resting place in Mount Vernon Cemetery honors a life spent nurturing family bonds and helping sustain the social fabric of the neighborhood she loved.
