Biography

Alois Auer was a pioneering photographer who captured the spirit of nineteenth-century Vienna. As a practitioner of the emerging photographic arts, he contributed to the visual documentation of his era during a transformative period in the history of photography.

Auer's work reflected the technical innovations and artistic sensibilities of his time. His legacy as a photographer remains part of Vienna's cultural heritage, and he was interred in Hietzing Cemetery among other notable citizens of the city.
