Alonzo H. Linton

Biography

Alonzo H. Linton was born in 1836 and spent his life witnessing the tremendous growth of Cleveland, working alongside fellow citizens to help the city navigate the post-Civil War era and the challenges of a rapidly modernizing society. He was known among his circle for his thoughtfulness and willingness to offer steady counsel to those around him.

When he died in 1911, he was mourned as a loyal friend and neighbor, and he was laid to rest at Lakewood Cemetery, where his contributions to the community are remembered with quiet appreciation.
