Biography

Alphonse Chigot was born in 1824 and established himself as a painter of considerable talent and vision. His artistic career spanned much of the 19th century, during which he contributed to the cultural landscape of France.

Chigot spent his later years in the Valenciennes region, where he became part of the local artistic heritage. He passed away in 1917 and was laid to rest in Valenciennes (St Roch) Communal Cemetery, leaving behind a legacy of artistic achievement.
