Biography
Álvares de Azevedo (1831–1852) was a prominent Brazilian writer and poet who became a leading figure of the Romantic movement in Brazil. Despite his tragically short life, he produced influential literary works that helped shape Brazilian letters during the nineteenth century.
His contributions to Brazilian literature, though cut short by his death at age twenty-one, established him as an important voice in the Romantic tradition. His works continue to be studied and celebrated as significant examples of Brazilian Romantic literature.
