Biography
Amelia Courtez (1812–1829) was a young woman whose life spanned the transition from the Regency era into the early years of King George IV's reign. Born in 1812, she grew up during a period of significant change in British India and the wider world.
Her untimely death at age 17 cut short a life full of potential. Amelia was laid to rest in South Park Street Cemetery, where her memory is preserved among the generations of British residents who found their final resting place in Calcutta.
