Biography
Amina Hanim was a notable woman of early 19th-century Egypt, living during a period of significant social and political transformation. Her life spanned the early decades of Muhammad Ali's reign, a time of modernization and change in Egyptian society.
Though limited historical records remain of her individual accomplishments, Amina Hanim's presence in the historical record reflects the experiences of women of her era and social standing in Cairo. She was laid to rest in Hosh el Basha, a burial ground that holds the memory of many prominent figures from this pivotal period.
