Biography

Anders Christian Lunde (1809–1886) was a Danish painter whose artistic work contributed to the visual culture and artistic traditions of nineteenth-century Denmark. His paintings reflected the aesthetic sensibilities and subject matter favored during the Romantic and later periods of Danish art history.

Lunde's artistic career spanned much of the nineteenth century, during which he participated in the development of Danish visual arts. His works and legacy remain part of Denmark's cultural heritage, and he was honored with burial at Assistens Cemetery, a place of rest for many of Denmark's artistic and intellectual luminaries.
