Biography

André-Jacques Delaruelle (1767–1854) was a French lawyer whose legal career and practice contributed to the development of French jurisprudence during a period of significant legal reform. His work in law reflected the modernization and codification of French legal institutions following the Revolution.

Delaruelle's eighty-seven years of life encompassed the transformation of French legal systems and the establishment of the Napoleonic Code. He was interred in Père Lachaise Cemetery in Paris, where his burial honors his contributions to French legal tradition and his standing within the legal profession.
