Biography
André Vitel (1921-1939) embraced the call of the sea from a young age, learning the rigors of life aboard ship and the quiet courage expected of every sailor. Though his years were brief, he pursued seamanship with promise and an earnest desire to serve his country.
Laid to rest in the Cimetière Saint-Sever, he is remembered for the sincerity of his aspirations and the honorable manner in which he answered duty during a time of looming turmoil.
