Biography
Andreas Flinch brought images to life through his delicate wood engravings, helping Danish newspapers, books, and periodicals to communicate stories with visual grace. His studio became a gathering place for artists and printers, and his attention to detail raised the standard of xylography during a period when illustration shaped public discourse.
Beyond his own craftsmanship, Flinch shared his skills with apprentices and patrons alike, countenancing a broader appreciation of the printmaker’s art. He rests at Assistens Cemetery, where his contribution to the visual language of Denmark continues to be admired.
