Biography

Andrew Hickenlooper combined his training as an engineer with brave military service, rising through the ranks to become a trusted officer during the Civil War. His analytical mind served him well both on the battlefield and later in public office, where he worked to rebuild and strengthen Ohio’s infrastructure.

He remained an active participant in civic life, championing improvements that reflected his sense of duty and practical foresight. He is laid to rest at Spring Grove Cemetery, remembered for his balanced approach to service and innovation.
